AIR NAVIGATION SERVICES

Air Navigation Services is a general term, which includes services related to air traffic management (ATM), establishment, management and maintenance of communications, navigation and surveillance systems (CNS) and provision of air navigation information services (AIS) including aeronautical information management (AIM). These kinds of services are provided at each stage of the aircraft flight at the aerodromes, in the terminal control areas and during the provision of services en-route between the departure and the arrival aerodrome.
State Enterprise “Air Traffic Services Authority” (BULATSA) provides ANS in the airspace and at the airports for which it is designated by law or by ordinance of the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications. In the Republic of Bulgaria State Enterprise “Air Traffic Services Authority” provides services at the international airports of Burgas, Varna, Gorna Oryahovitsa, Plovdiv and Sofia, as well in Sofia Flight Information Region.
On the grounds of a bilateral agreement within the Functional Airspace Block “DANUBE” (DANUBE FAB) BULATSA provides services in the airspace of Romania in cross-border sector DF1. Accordingly, the certified in Romania Air Navigation Services Provider provides air navigation services in cross-border sector DF2.
