The governing bodies of BULATSA according to the Civil Aviation Act are:
- The Minister of Transport and Communications;
- The Management Board;
- The Director General.
The Management Board is composed of Mrs. Veselina Karamileva-Todorova, Mr. Yanko Stoimenov and Mr. Ivan Diaksov.
Mrs. Veselina Karamileva-Todorova was appointed after a competitive procedure for nominating an independent member of the BULATSA’s Management Board, conducted by the Public Enterprises and Control Agency. Mrs. Karamileva-Todorova has an educational and qualification master’s degree in economics major “Accounting and Financial Control Activity”, with many years of experience in the field of financial management and control, and in the management of the state enterprises.
Mr. Yanko Stoimenov was appointed after a competitive procedure for the selection of a member of the BULATSA’s Management Board – representative of the state, conducted by the Ministry of Transport and Communications. Mr. Stoimenov has an educational and qualification master’s degree in engineering major “Pilot” and has extensive management experience in the field of flight operations, aviation safety, air traffic and airports management, as well as in a number of European initiatives related to the regulation of this activity.
Ivan Diaksov has been appointed Director General of the Bulgarian Air Traffic Services Authority (BULATSA) and is also a member of its Management Board. He holds a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering and has extensive experience in civil aviation and air traffic management.
