Aeronautical information services
The aeronautical information/data is published as an integrated aeronautical information package that consists of the following elements:
a) AIP of the Republic of Bulgaria;
b) AIP amendment;
c) AIP supplement;
f) Aeronautical Information Circular (АIС);
d) NOTAM; Check-list of valid NOTAMs) List of valid NOTAMs;
e) Pre-flight Information Bulletin (PIB);
The Aeronautical Information Service (AIS) Department receives and/or originates, checks or collects, edits, formats, publishes, stores and distributes aeronautical information or data for the whole territory of the Republic of Bulgaria as well as for the areas outside its territory for which the State is responsible for the provision of air traffic services. Тhe AIS Department publishes all Bulgarian aeronautical publications and updates BULATSA static database in the European AIS database (ЕАD).
The publications are in compliance with the requirements of the international standards and recommended practices of ICAO Annex 15 and the provisions of ordinance №15 for aeronautical information services, issued by the Ministry of Transport Information Technology and Communications and of the EC Regulation 73/2010. A quality management system is implemented in order to assure and maintain the compliance of the provided services with the established standards.
The Aeronautical Information Service Department provides aeronautical information/data in a form suitable for use by:
a) aviation operators;
b) aircraft crew;
c) air traffic services units;
d) flight data processing unit;
e) aviation simulators;
f) unit for provision of flight information service;
g) airport operators and administrations;
h) unit for provision of pre-flight information;
i) any other units for aeronautical information service.
The NOTAM Office publishes promptly NOTAM/ SNOWTAM messages for the whole territory of the Republic of Bulgaria as well as for the areas outside its territory for which the State is responsible for the provision of air traffic services. The NOTAM office receives NOTAM/SNOWTAM messages from different sources, based on mutually agreed exchange of information and distributes them to the corresponding users. The NOTAM messages are included in the briefings for pilots, ATCOs, airport operators and other users.
