DANUBE FAB Partners BULATSA and ROMATSA to Showcase TBO and ATM Innovation at Airspace World 2026

The DANUBE FAB partners BULATSA and ROMATSA will participate in Airspace World 2026, taking place in Lisbon, Portugal from 26 to 28 May.
During the event, DANUBE FAB will showcase its cross-border operational cooperation, performance achievements and innovation initiatives, with a strong focus on SESAR research, CP1 deployment and tangible operational capabilities.
A central element of the participation will be two panel discussions:
- Trajectory-Based Operations (TBO): From FF-ICE to ADS-C EPP – Scaling Trajectory-Based Operations in Europe
This panel will explore the transition from early TBO deployment towards large-scale implementation, including operational experience, enabling technologies, and the outlook towards Common Project 2.
- ATCO Shortage: Can the Number of Active ATCOs Catch Up With Air Traffic Growth?
The discussion will address workforce sustainability, training capacity, human performance and operational resilience in the context of increasing traffic demand.
DANUBE FAB will also actively contribute to the SESAR Walking Tours programme, presenting key projects including: ATC TBO, GEESE – Continental, ROMairTCM, NETWORK TBO and FF-ICE (ATM2015+S4D).
Visitors to the DANUBE FAB stand will also be able to explore selected system demonstrations and operational scenarios illustrating real ATM use cases, including trajectory management and complexity management solutions.
Through its dual engagement in SESAR research and deployment activities, DANUBE FAB confirms its role as a pragmatic early mover in the transition towards Trajectory-Based Operations in Europe.
These activities are co-funded by the European Union under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) and implemented within the SESAR framework, supporting the digital transformation of European air traffic management.
