Duration: 2017 – 2020
Budget: 58728 EUR
Objective:
Datalink Path II project is in accordance with the requirements of Regulation (EC) 716/2014 and SESAR Deployment Programme. As a result of conducted study (VDL Mode 2 Measurement, Analysis and Simulation Campaign – ELSA Consortium Study), commissioned by EC to SJU, regarding study and analysis of the numerous problems with the introduction of DLS (air-ground data link services) at European level, SESAR Deployment Manager (SDM) endorsed Data Link Services Recovery Plan. This plan adopts the recommendations of consortium ELSA’s study and identifies the need for transition of the current model for DLS use (Model A), through one of the intermediate DLS models (B or C), to the target DLS model (Model D). The target evolutionary Model D is characterized with the use of a central multi-frequency data link network, reserved frequency for ATC messages and separate identifiers for each frequency (Ground station identifier frequency – GSIF), specified in the VDL network.
Activities:
- Deployment of Enhanced Large Scale ATN Deployment (ELSA) outcomes for the achievement of Model D (or Target Solution) – DSNA
- Technical or architecture definition
- Elaboration of a Business Case for the Target Solution, considering both technical and service model viewpoints
- Coordination with DLS IP Path I
- Definition of an European common DLS Governance
BULATSA has the role of a reviewer in the activities in which the organization is involved. This role consists in in giving input and feedbacks on outcomes of the activities, based on its knowledge and experience.
