PJ06 Trajectory based free routing (TOBEFREE)
Title of Proposal:
SESAR.IR-VLD.Wave1-00-2015 – PJ06 – Trajectory based Free Routing
Grant Agreement number: 734129 (H2020-SESAR-2015-2/H2020-SESAR-2015-2)
According to the SESAR2020 Multi Annual Program: 2016 – 2019
PJ.06-01 – Optimized traffic management to enable Free Routing in high and very high complexity environments.
This work enables airspace users to plan flight trajectories without reference to a fixed route network or published directs within high and very high-complexity environments, so they can optimise their associated flights in line with their individual operator business needs or military requirements.
The objective of the PJ06 is to validate Free Routing within high & very high-complexity environments. The Free Routing concept enables Airspace Users (AUs) to fly as close as possible to their preferred trajectory without being constrained by fixed airspace structures or fixed route networks.
High and very High complexity environments have to be understood as specified in the Multi-Annual Work Programme (MAWP) Section C10. Nevertheless, in the Performance Plan for the European ATM Master Plan Edition 2015, which defined Performance Needs of the various ATM Operating Environments, very high complexity is no longer identified. The project will address high complexity environments according to the ATM Master Plan definition.
